Creating great angling experiences on the rivers of Northern Michigan

About White Pine…

White Pine Guide Service will provide professional knowledge on the rivers of Northern MI. US Coast Guard Captain Dakota Mack has years of guiding experience ranging from Alaska to Patagonia. Teaching both fly and light tackle fishing methods for Trout, Steelhead and Salmon are his specialty. Located in Walloon Lake MI, Dakota will pick a river within Northern MI that will provide the best experience. Including the Upper Manistee, Jordan, Sturgeon, Pigeon, Black, Boyne and Maple rivers.

Trout Fishing

Northern Michigan is well known for its fantastic trout fishing. Something about dancing mayflies in the cedar swamp scenery just sticks with you. The best of the hatches start in late April and hold their own until early July. The mayflies then get followed by terrestrial fishing. That continues into September. The rest of the year is usually best covered with streamers. Peak streamer season being late September through the end of November, or March through early May.

Steelhead Fishing

Steelhead fishing is possible in Northern Michigan from Late September all the way through the end of April. Peak months being October/November or March/April. Both centerpin and fly methods are used. Whichever you prefer, we can take you where the fish are and show you how to catch them.
