Welcome!

Welcome to White Pine Guide Service! This website and blog are something I have been extremely excited about for quite a while. Working for lodges in other parts of the nation and world for the past couple years has kept me from being able to start this up, but the idea has always sat in the back of my head. As a young angler, I used to hound the blogs of the most reputable guide services like a hawk (and still do). I especially enjoy the informational posts about the scientific aspects of fishing on the rivers of northern MI. Always trying to learn something new.

Now as an angler and guide who is on the river more days than not, I’m more than ready to get this rolling. The ultimate challenge with writing something like this is to provide useful information, without giving up the fun part. Which is exploring and finding places to fish in the outdoor playground that upper northern MI is. This is not the blog where you are going to find river names and access points. More like information on how to catch the fish you may encounter. Or even how to find information on where to go. This blog will also have seasonal posts relevant to what is going on at the time of the post. Hatches, how to approach varying water levels, the options are limitless.

Anyway, more than anything, I am excited to share the information I am finding on a day-to-day basis being on the river. I hope to make it helpful more than anything else. Helping people catch more fish and have a better experience on the water. As blog posts have done for me. If you would like notifications on when the blog posts come out. Or for when the hottest times are to come up and fish with White Pine Guide Service. Sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of my home page on the website.

Thank you for reading!
